Taylor's Story
Taylor's family visited the Lodge in April 2024.
On June 14th 2023 while we were out as a family Taylors leg broke while simply walking.
When we got to hospital Drs confirmed that a 10cm size tumour had cause his bone to break where the hip and femur meet.
They said he had Ewings Sarcoma. We were all absolutely devastated having just welcomed a new baby girl into our lives only 8 weeks prior to this.
Taylor was told he would need 14 rounds of chemotherapy along with major surgery to replace the hip and femur and tumour removal.
He started chemotherapy almost straight away and after 5 rounds he had the big operation which was a success and the whole tumour was removed.
Unfortunately we were told the cancer had spread rapidly and was in his pelvis, right shoulder, spine and also now his lungs.
We continued with the rest of the chemotherapy. At the end of the 14 rounds we were given the devastating news that the lungs did not react to the chemotherapy and there was 1 more course they could try but it had a very small chance of working.
We are now on that course of chemotherapy and praying things are going the right way. We are so so thankful to the Ben Saunders Foundation for giving us this break away its very much needed.
Our world has been turned upside down and the future is uncertain but we will fight all the way.
